Integrative/Acupuncture

This section is dedicated to interventional pain management (including transforaminal epidural injections, facet blocks and spinal cord stimulator trials) as well as acupuncture to treat a variety of pain types such as headaches, back pain, neck pain and joint pain. The Integrative/Acupuncture section emphasizes approaches to chronic pain that do not fit into “traditional” Western medicine, and include both passive and active treatments. Generally, two or more treatments are integrated in an interdisciplinary fashion. Such approaches are consultative, collaborative, and integrative. Considerable attention is paid to acupuncture, which continues to gather support for pain treatment in both Eastern and Western medicine.
