This section considers high-quality original papers and reviews of all types that relate to diseases of the heart and circulation. Although primarily a clinical journal, we also accept relevant laboratory studies that focus on human health and disease, as well as genetic studies related to human cardiovascular disease. We particularly encourage clinical, translational, and experimental studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of cardiovascular mechanisms and their implications for human health and pathology. Special attention is paid to contemporary challenges in cardiology, such as the implementation of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, technologies, optimization of patient pathways, and the integration of evidence-based recommendations into real-world clinical practice.

Topics included are ischemic heart disease; cardiovascular diseases; cardiovascular biology; pathophysiology; vascular biology; cardiac function; cardiovascular medicine; valvular heart disease; atrial fibrillation; arrhythmias; congenital heart disease; carotid artery disease; peripheral artery disease; heart failure and its modern treatment; heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation; cardiomyopathies of various genesis; vascular diseases (aneurysms, thrombosis, vasculitis); diagnosis and early detection of cardiovascular pathologies; interventional cardiology; epidemiology, prevention and screening of cardiovascular diseases; development and implementation of new treatment methods, including drug and non-drug therapy; interaction of cardiology with other medical areas (endocrinology, neurology, nephrology, etc.); and venous thrombosis.
