Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal. The journal is committed to the rapid publication of the latest laboratory and clinical findings that lead to establishing new paradigms in the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or obesity. The journal welcomes original research manuscripts, reviews, expert opinions, and commentaries relating to all aspects of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.
This journal is a member of and subscribes to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Reporting Guidelines
Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity requires the use of key study design specific consensus-based reporting guidelines, such as:
- CONSORT guidelines for clinical trials (including extensions)
- SPIRIT for clinical trial protocols
- PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (including extensions)
- PRISMA-P for systematic review protocols
- ARRIVE guidelines for in vivo animal studies
- CARE guidelines for clinical case reports
