Complexities in contraception

In the modern world, contraception forms a regular part of life and medical care to cover a range of symptoms, preventative needs and additional concerns. With a wealth of choice in contraceptive care, it seems probable that complexities arise. This Thematic Series investigates how medication-based contraceptives compare against Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives, in terms of their efficacy, safety and use to treat multiple aspects of reproductive health. How do contraceptives go beyond their physical effects to affect psychological wellbeing?
