The Journal of Pain Research has a new SCImago Journal Ranking

The Journal of Pain Research has received a SJR of 0.848 in the 2014 SCImago Journal Ranking (SJR). It has ranked 22 out of 119 journals in the Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine category.

The Journal of Pain Research has seen a significant increase in its ranking and is up from 0.416 in 2013. The SJR uses data taken from the Scopus database (Elsevier B.V.) and is a measure of a journal's impact. It takes into account both the number of citations received by the journal over a three year period and also the importance of the journals where the citations came from.

Dr. Michael Schatman, Editor-in-Chief, says "We are excited to announce that the 2014 SCImago Journal Rankings (SJR) have recently been released, and that the Journal of Pain Research has a SJR of 0.848. This ranking places us 22nd out of 119 journals in the Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine category. In conjunction with the highly anticipated release of our Impact Factor by Thomson Reuters this coming spring, we consider this evidence regarding the growing momentum of the Journal of Pain Research - particularly given that we are in only our 9th year of publication. We thank all of our authors, who hail from prestigious institutions including Harvard, Mayo Clinic, Stanford, and York University - among others. We look forward to sharing all of our future successes with you. In order to discuss future collaboration, I will be available to discuss publishing in the Journal of Pain Research at upcoming "Meet-the-Editor" functions at upcoming conferences this year including the American Academy of Pain Medicine in Palm Springs, California, SIMPAR in Rome, Italy, and the International Association for the Study of Pain in Yokohama, Japan."
