Providence, RI (PRWEB) June 30, 2011

Thomson Reuters has just released the 2010 Journal Citation Reports® (JCR), showing an impressive improvement to the impact factor for the International Journal of Nanomedicine, published by Dove Medical Press.

The 2010 impact factor for the International Journal of Nanomedicine has been released at 4.976 (up from 2.612).

Thomas Webster, Editor-in-Chief, proudly says "Coupled with our average initial peer-review period of only 11 days, we continue to be a leader in high quality, timely publication of nanomedicine related research. To date, we have published over 474 articles (with over 1.5 million views through our open access format on our web site), making us one of the largest journals at the intersection of nanotechnology and medicine."

The JCR provides information about highly-cited, peer reviewed publications and is the source of the new Journal Impact Factors.

As Thomson Reuters quotes, "Journal Selection takes place throughout the course of a year and its goal is to identify, evaluate and select the most important and influential International and Regional journals for coverage in Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge platform. The following year, these data are then analyzed and published in the JCR release, providing a view of how these journals are integrated, through citation, with the scholarly, multidisciplinary literature."
