Integrated Psychosocial Treatments to Improve Clinical and Functional Outcomes

Exploring integrated psychosocial treatments within psychiatric care is essential for addressing the multifaceted challenges posed by psychiatric disorders. Mental disorders constitute a leading cause of disability worldwide and the pathways towards poor clinical and functional outcomes are extremely heterogeneous. Traditional pharmacotherapy often provides partial solutions to the complex needs of individuals with psychiatric illnesses, especially in their chronic phase. Furthermore, at early stages and in subjects at risk, pharmacological treatments need to be integrated with interventions to ameliorate the social isolation and to favor inclusion. This Article Collection includes original research, and review articles focused on integrated psychosocial treatments in psychiatry, with a particular emphasis on investigating their impact on clinical and functional outcomes.
