Emerging Trends in Multidrug-Resistant Infections

Multidrug-resistant infections represent a critical global health crisis, posing significant threats to public health, economics, and patient safety. As resistance to antibiotics increases, healthcare providers face a diminishing arsenal of effective treatments, complicating the management of infections and leading to higher morbidity and mortality rates. This situation results in longer hospital stays and increased medical costs, imposing a substantial economic burden on healthcare systems. Vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and immunocompromised individuals, are particularly at risk, underscoring the urgency to confront this challenge.
