The Role of Stress in Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. Social determinants of health play a significant role in breast cancer outcomes, as there are well-documented disparities in breast cancer survival by socioeconomic status, education, race, and access to health insurance and preventive care. Research suggests that stress may be a mediator between social determinants of health and breast cancer risk and outcomes.
