We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal OncoTargets and Therapy, have retracted the published article.

After publication, concerns have been raised by a third party in 2023 about the integrity of the data in Figures 2D, 3, 5D, 5E, 6E, 7D, S1, and S5 of the article.

Further investigation conducted by the Journal and Publisher identified significant integrity concerns, including:

  • Unexpected overlaps in Figures 2, 4F, 5A, 6E and 7A of the article with the following article from an unrelated author group:Liu J, Jia Y, Jia L, et al.   • Unexpected overlaps between Fig 3B & E of this article and figures in the following article from an unrelated author group:Zhu P, Liu Z, Zhou J, Chen Y.   • Unexpected similarities between Figures 2D and 6e of the article. These images are stated to be representative of different samples and conditions.
  • Unexpected similarities present in the image panels representative of different treatment conditions in Figure 5 of the article.
  • Unexpected similarities between Figures 5D and 7D of the article. These images are stated to be representative of different samples and conditions.
  • Unexpected similarities between Figures S1 and S5 of the article. These images are stated to be representative of different samples and conditions.

When approached for an explanation, the authors did not respond to the queries raised by the Journal and Publisher.

As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The corresponding author listed in this publication has been informed.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines.
