The Editor and Publisher of Cancer Management and Research wish to retract the published paper. The authors initially requested the retraction claiming some results described in the initial study could not be repeated and there were concerns with the specificity of the β-actin primer used in the qRT-PCR assay. Despite several requests from the editorial office, the authors could not provide satisfactory raw data for their qRT-PCR assay. They were also unable to provide satisfactory raw data for the western blots described in the study. It was determined the findings of the study were invalid and the decision was made to retract the paper.
Our decision-making was informed by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retraction.
The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
