Therapeutic Advances in Urologic Malignancies

In recent years an evident paradigm shift has evolved across both local and systemic treatment choices for urologic malignancies. Regarding prostate cancer management, research has focused on a multitude of treatment options; whereas radical prostatectomy is well established for local disease, the role of pelvic lymph node dissection remains controversial, in particular in the context of metastatic disease on imaging. Adjuvant and early salvage radiotherapy offer distinct approaches, with recent studies indicating comparable outcomes. Systemic therapies continue to evolve as e.g., chemotherapy's role in radiation therapy is still an ongoing subject of clinical studies. This Collection includes novel aspects of treatment options for urologic malignancies within the field of PSCC, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer.
