We, the Editor and Publisher of Drug Design, Development and Therapy, have retracted the published article.
After publication, image integrity concerns were raised regarding duplicated elements within Figures 4h (LP vs. YSHXD-H) and 5b (NLRP3-YSHXD-L vs. IL-1beta-UUO). When approached for an explanation, the authors did respond to our queries (stating the duplications were due to errors in image assembly) but were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation to address our concerns.
As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The authors have been informed about this retraction and they have agreed to retract the article.
We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines.
The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
