We, the Editors and Publisher of Cancer Management and Research, have retracted the following article.

Following publication of the article, concerns were raised about the duplication of images from Figure 3 with images from other unrelated articles. Specifically,

  • Images for Figure 3E and 3F have been duplicated with images in Figures 4A and 4B from Xu L, Ni N, Gao H, Hu P. MicroRNA‑1301‑3p promotes the progression of non‑small cell lung cancer by targeting Thy‑1 and predicts poor prognosis of patients. Oncology Letters. 2021;21:327. https://doi.org/10.3892/ol.2021.12589; Figure 4B from Wang C, Wang J, Zhang J, et al. MicroRNA‑623 inhibits tumor progression and is a predictor of poor prognosis of breast cancer. Oncology Letters. 2020;20:386. https://doi.org/10.3892/ol.2020.12249; and Figure 4B from Lu Y, Zhang X, Zhang H, Zhu Z. Prognosis and Biological Function of miR-3195 in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Cancer Manag Res. 2022;14:169-176. https://doi.org/10.2147/CMAR.S345618.

The authors did not respond to our queries and were unable to provide an explanation for the duplicated images or provide data for the study. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article and the authors were notified of this.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
