Noteworthy comment: There are limited data about resistance against secondline drugs to date. In this study, systematic testing on 116 probes was performed using the GenoType MTBDRplus and the Etest. The authors also did a targeted sequence analysis on 26 isolates.
Based on these results, the first case of XDR-TB in Ghana was revealed. Furthermore, it was the first description of resistant strains against Amikacin and Ofloxacin in Ghana.
