The Editor and Publisher of OncoTargets and Therapy wish to retract the published article. Concerns were raised following the authors request to publish a corrigendum to correct images in Figure 3 and Figure 6. It was found that several images in these figures had been duplicated. Specifically,

  • Figure 3A, panels 0h NC and RACK 1 appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 3C, panels Control and NC appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 3E, panels 0h Control and NC appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 3G, panels Control and NC appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 6D, panels 0h Control, RACK 1, LiCl and RACK 1+LiCl appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 6D, panels NC and RACK 1+LiC appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 6H, panels Control and NC appear to have been duplicated.
  • Figure 6H, panels LiCl and Rack 1+LiCl appear to have been duplicated.

The authors responded to our queries but were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the alleged duplication nor were they able to provide adequate original data for their study. The authors requested to retract the article and the Editor agreed with this decision.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
