Zhang Q, Xu L, Wang J, et al. Onco Targets Ther. 2021;14:1187–1204.

At the authors request, the Editor and Publisher of OncoTargets and Therapy are retracting the published article. The authors informed the journal that errors were made in the setting of the screening threshold for the differentially expressed miRNAs. In addition, an image used in this article was found to have been duplicated with the same image from another article. Specifically,

  • The image used in Figure 4C, Normal, DUSP1, was duplicated with the same image for Figure 5f, Normal, HJURP, from Wang F, Han S, Yang J, Yan W, Hu G. Knowledge-Guided “Community Network” Analysis Reveals the Functional Modules and Candidate Targets in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer. Cells. 2021;10(2):402. https://doi.org/10.3390/cells10020402.

The authors cooperated with the investigation and advised the journal that an error was made during the sourcing of images for Figure 4C which went unnoticed at the time of publication.

As the reported findings are no longer reliable, the Editor agreed with the authors decision to retract the article.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
