Professor Alastair Sutcliffe

Professor Alastair Sutcliffe is an internationally known expert on IVF children and has led studies in this field since 1993. He is also a general, developmental and adolescent paediatrician at University College London Hospital and an honorary consultant at the Great Ormond Street and Whittington Hospitals (UK).

Professor Sutcliffe’s research include previous studies on embryo and oocyte cryopreservation outcomes, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, twin-twin transfusion syndrome, and PCOS outcome. Professor Sutcliffe has conducted a number of clinical trials and has an interest in medicines for children and young people. He is currently working on multiple projects which include two cancer epidemiology studies, one to estimate the risk of cancer in women treated with assisted reproductive therapies), and one on child cancer risk.

Professor Sutcliffe is a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health and a visiting Professor at the University of Hong Kong and University of New South Wales.
