Dr Sudheesh Kumar PT
Consulting Editor: Sudeesh Kumar (PhD)
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Griffith University, Gold Coast campus, Qld, Australia
Dr Sudheesh pursued his PhD in nanobiotechnology from Amrita centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, India in 2013. During the PhD tenure, he accomplished the successful development of wound dressing bandages from natural polymers. He has done studies on polymer and ceramic scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. Recognition of the quality of his work is demonstrated by its publication in high impact factor peer reviewed journals including: Progress in Polymer Science, ACS Applied materials and Interface, Tissue Engineering Part A, Pharmaceutical Research and Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology.
Overall, he has published 23 journal papers and 1 book chapter since beginning PhD studies. A highlight of this work was the selection of my publication “Development of novel chitin/nanosilver composite scaffolds for wound dressing applications” as the best paper of 2010 by the Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine. His research articles cited 910 times and his h-index is 14. Currently, he is a postdoctoral research fellow at Griffith University, Australia where he is doing studies on bone regeneration using 3D printed polymeric scaffolds and hydrogels
