Dr. Hitesh Soni is currently working as an Instructor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, assisting in the laboratory of Dr. Adebowale Adebiyi since 2011 and focusing on research projects related to renovascular physiology and pathophysiology using piglet and mouse. He has more than eleven years of experience working in preclinical research, beginning in his home-country  India at the Zydus Research Center, a research wing of Zydus Cadila, Ahmedabad, India -a well reputed pharmaceutical company that has recently launched their first new chemical entity (NCE) named Saroglitazar (LipaglynTM) for diabetic dyslipidemia. He worked at Zydus Research Center on diabetes, cardiovascular, metabolic, renal anemia, thrombosis, inflammation and many other drug discovery projects for almost eight years (2004-2011) at various levels starting from a bench level scientist to middle management. During that period, he published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals such as vascular pharmacology, thrombosis research, toxicology and applied pharmacology, etc., two of which were awarded as Best Papers. He has also published international patent (WO2011132201). In 2011, following completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Soni moved to the US to pursue his research. He published three research articles (two as first author) after coming to US in peer-reviewed journals in merely three years and also contributed to four conference abstracts. He also received “Leonard Share Young Investigator Award” in 2014 by University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis, TN, USA in Recognition of Outstanding Basic Research in the Cardiovascular-Renal field. He is also serving as Editorial board for International Archives of Translational Medicine (IATM) journal published by ClinMed International Library, Associate Editor of Medcrave Online Journal of Toxicology (MOJT) published by MedCrave Publishing Group and ad-hoc  reviewer of several reputed journals.
