Haiyan Qu, Ph.D, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She received her Ph.D (Administration-Health Services) with an emphasis in Health Services Research from UAB in 2007. Dr. Qu teaches quantitative research methods to graduate students, mentors doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty, and serves as an investigator and methodologist for over 30 funded research projects across disciplines.
Her research interests focus on health disparities, quality improvement in healthcare, and patient-centered outcomes research using mixed methods. She has served as a scientific reviewer on the merit review panel of Addressing Disparities for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) since 2013 and a scientific reviewer for PCORI research reports since 2018. Dr. Qu’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of General Internal Medicine, Academic Medicine, American Journal of Health Behavior, Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Arthritis Care & Research, Clinical Rheumatology, Journal of Cancer Survivorship, American Journal of Transplantation, and Implementation Science Communications.
