We, the Editors and Publisher of OncoTargets and Therapy, have retracted the following article.

Following publication of the article, concerns were raised about the duplication of images from Figures 2, 6 and 7 with images from other unrelated articles. Specifically,

  • Images for Figures 2C, 6C and 6D have been duplicated with images for Figures 2C and 7B from Chen T, Gao F, Yang T, et al. LncRNA HOTAIRM1 Inhibits the Proliferation and Invasion of Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells via the miR-498/WWOX Axis. Cancer Manag Res. 2020;12:4379-4390. https://doi.org/10.2147/CMAR.S244573.
  • Images for Figure 2E have been duplicated with images for Figure 2B from Liu W, Yang YJ, An Q. LINC00963 Promotes Ovarian Cancer Proliferation, Migration and EMT via the miR-378g /CHI3L1 Axis. Cancer Manag Res. 2020;12:463-473. https://doi.org/10.2147/CMAR.S229083 and Figure 5D from Chen G, Zhang Z, Chen Y, Li Y. Long non‑coding RNA SNHG9 inhibits ovarian cancer progression by sponging microRNA‑214‑5p. Oncology Letters. 2021;21:80. https://doi.org/10.3892/ol.2020.12341.
  • Images for Figure 2H have been duplicated with images for Figure 2G from Meng D, Shao H, Feng C. LINC00894 Enhances the Progression of Breast Cancer by Sponging miR-429 to Regulate ZEB1 Expression. Onco Targets Ther. 2021;14:3395-3407. https://doi.org/10.2147/OTT.S277284.

The authors did not respond to our queries and were unable to provide an explanation for the duplicated images or provide data for the study. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article and the authors were notified of this.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
