Journal of Vascular Diagnostics and Interventions
Editor-in-Chief: Amy Deipolyi
Dr. Deipolyi is an assistant professor and attending physician in the Interventional Radiology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Her clinical focus is in breast cancer and endocrine disorders. After obtaining her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, she earned her MD/PhD at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and Neuroscience Graduate Program. She completed a transitional year internship with emphasis on medical and surgical oncology at MSK, then completed radiology residency and interventional radiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. After working as an attending interventional radiologist at NYU Langone Medical Center, she returned to MSK to join the Interventional Radiology Service.
As a member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering breast cancer multi-disciplinary team, she works closely with breast oncologists to provide image-guided biopsy and palliative treatments, offering local treatments to metastatic tumors in the liver, lung, and other organs. She also specializes in the diagnosis of endocrine disorders, and performs selective venous sampling to aid in the diagnosis of pituitary, adrenal, and pancreatic tumors, and parathyroid adenomas. By localizing these hormone-secreting tumors, she provides surgeons critical information to allow for more selective resections.
Her research interests focus on developing new effective treatments for breast cancer. She is an investigator on trials using combination therapy involving immunotherapy with local thermal ablation to one tumor to fight metastases throughout the body. She is specifically interested in the immunogenic potential of embolic therapies used to treat metastatic disease.
