Comfort after Refitting Symptomatic Habitual Reusable Toric Lens Wearers with a New Daily Disposable Contact Lens for Astigmatism [Response to Letter]

We thank Chaurasiya et al for their interest in our study “Comfort after refitting symptomatic habitual reusable toric lens wearers with a new daily disposable contact lens for astigmatism”.¹ We would point out that the first four limitations that the authors outlined were already acknowledged and discussed in our article. In addition, the authors’ suggestion to examine the causative factors for changes in comfort after refitting was beyond the scope of our study. The primary purpose was to see if refitting with a toric daily disposable improved subjective comfort with a representative sample of symptomatic reusable toric lens wearers. The sample size was adequate to achieve this aim.

None of the limitations materially affect the outcomes we reported. The results of our study indicate that refitting with delefilcon A toric lenses can improve subjective comfort in symptomatic reusable toric lens wearers.
