Noteworthy Comment: Potassium channels are being increasingly recognised as critical contributors to the physiological regulation of tissue function and to several major disorders. They have for many years been the target for drugs in the treatment of some conditions such as hypertension. This review provides a concise but timely and focussed review of the role of potassium channels specifically in the control of vascular tone and should stimulate further work and new drug development in this area
