We, the Editor and Publisher of International Journal of Women’s Health, have retracted the published article.
Following publication, concerns were raised by a third-party regarding the accuracy of a reference within the article. Upon investigation by the publisher, further concerns were identified regarding the accuracy and integrity of other references in this article.
When contacted for an explanation regarding the validity of the references, the author responded, however they were unable to address the concerns raised. As a result, the Editor and the Publisher no longer have confidence in the content presented.
As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The corresponding author has been informed.
We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines. The retracted articles will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but they will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
