We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal, Drug Design, Development and Therapy have retracted the published article.

After publication, concerns were raised by a third party in 2025 regarding the integrity of the data in the article. Subsequently, the authors contacted the Journal requesting the correction of their article.

Further investigation conducted by the Journal and Publisher confirmed duplicate image panels representative of different treatment conditions present in Figure 8 of the article.

When approached for an explanation, the authors have cooperated with the investigation and have explained that this was due to an oversight during the figure preparation. The authors provided their raw data. However, as the Journal and Publisher also found additional overlaps in the raw data, we are retracting the article. The corresponding author listed in this publication has been informed. The authors agree to the retraction.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
