Wendy Imlach is an Associate Professor at Monash University, Australia, and Head of the Pain Mechanisms lab in the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute. Wendy and her team use pre-clinical models to investigate changes in the nervous system that drive and maintain chronic pain states. She obtained her PhD in Pharmacology in New Zealand from the University of Otago and held postdoctoral positions at Columbia University in New York, and in Australia at the University of Queensland and University of Sydney.

Dr. Imlach’s work focuses on the excitability and control of neuronal signalling within spinal cord circuits to understand the origin and persistence of pathological pain. Her goal is to identify novel therapeutic targets and more effective treatments for neuropathic pain conditions.
