Münur Aktas earned his undergraduate and MSci degrees at the University of Firat in Turkey. Subsequently he served on the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, first as an assistant of Parasitology until 1997. In 1997, Münur Aktas received his PhD degree from the University of Firat. Currently, Dr Aktas is an Professor in Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Firat University, Turkey. In the course of his PhD thesis research, Dr. Aktas conducted fields studies in cattle vaccinated against tropical theileriosis. In parallel he worked in ticks and tick-borne diseases (babesiosis, theileriosis, anaplasmosis). Dr. Münur Aktas is a member of the Turkish Society of Parasitology. At national and international levels, he has served as a member of Turkish Research Grant Review panel.
