Dr Rustum Karanjia

Dr. Rustum Karanjia is a Neuro-ophthalmologist at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute. He completed his medical training and PhD in electrophysiology in at Queen's University, and a Neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at UCLA. His research interests include objective outcome measures in ocular disease and he is involved in multiple clinical trials in LHON. He is a board member of LHON Canada and a Scientific and Medical Advisory board member for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) and the International Foundation of Optic Nerve Diseases (IFOND).

He has served as a section editor for the Canadian journal Of Ophthalmology, Frontiers in Ophthalmology and Advances in Optometry and Ophthalmology. He is currently an Assistant Professor and Vice-Chair (Research) at the University of Ottawa and holds the Les Amie Endowed Chair and the Jr. Clinical Research Fellowship for Ophthalmology.
