Ramón Morillo-Verdugo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Seville, Spain. His academic journey is marked by continuous professional development and a commitment to advancing research in biomedicine and clinical pharmacy.
Throughout his career, Professor Morillo-Verdugo has focused on optimizing pharmaceutical care for HIV patients, pioneering innovative approaches, such as the Capacity, Motivation, and Opportunity (CMO) methodology, to enhance therapeutic adherence and manage pharmacotherapeutic complexity. He has worked in clinical practice and has significantly contributed to improving patient outcomes and ensuring the safe administration of antiretroviral therapies.
Professor Morillo-Verdugo’s research portfolio includes over 90 publications in high-impact international journals, with focusing on critical issues such as antiretroviral therapy adherence, telepharmacy, and the management of pharmacotherapeutic complexity in HIV care. He has successfully led and collaborated on multiple competitive research projects funded by both public and private agencies and has been instrumental in knowledge transfer initiatives like the SANPAT system for monitoring new prescriptions and therapeutic adherence. Professor Morillo-Verdugo’s contributions to scientific research have established him as a leading figure in the field of clinical pharmacy and HIV research in Spain, especially on SEFH and GESIDA projects.
