Turgay Celik is working as Senior Researcher at Wake Forest University nowadays. Dr. Celik earned his medical degree from Gulhane Military Medical Academy. He completed his residency at Cardiology Department of Gulhane Military Medical Faculty, Ankara, Turkey. He proudly served 25 years as an physician and academician for Turkish Armed Forces. His main research interests include arterial hypertension, interventional cardiology, acute cardiac care, dyslipidemia and heart failure.

Dr. Celik has authored more than 450 publications (h index=41) concerning his clinical and investigative work. His research has focused mainly on arterial hypertension, clinical cardiology, cardiac imaging, endothelial dysfunction, coronary artery disease, heart failure and interventional cardiology. His clinical study analyzing Comparative effects of nebivolol and metoprolol on oxidative stress, insulin resistance, plasma adiponectin and soluble P-selectin levels in hypertensive patients has to this point received more than 345 citations. Dr. Celik has served as referee for a number of highly prestigious cardiovascular journals.
