Professor Mohamad Bashir is a clinical and research professor specialising in cardiovascular surgery. He earned a Ph.D. in Health Economics and Clinical Evaluation of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm from the University of Liverpool and holds an Advanced Research Scholar Degree from Harvard Medical School. He is the Director of the AORTIC LIVE Symposium, a prestigious international event that streams live innovative device technology-driven interventions performed by leading surgeons worldwide.
Professor Bashir is a highly respected and actively involved clinical academic surgeon within the global cardiovascular community, having led numerous clinical trials aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and advancing cardiovascular procedures. He has published over 280 articles in leading cardiovascular journals, alongside five book chapters and several position statement papers, reflecting his senior standing in his specialised surgical field.
Professor Bashir serves on the Executive Boards of multiple aortic and surgical journals and has been a Guest Editor for many Special Editions focusing on aortovascular medicine and surgery, collaborating with esteemed colleagues in the field. He is actively involved in the training and education of junior doctors, medical students, and other undergraduate and postgraduate learners. Additionally, he has contributed to lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in core curricula and student-selected modules where appropriate.
