Professor Mei-Chun Cheung

Prof. Mei-Chun Cheung is an Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology, specialized in clinical neuropsychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has also received clinical training at the University of California at San Diego in the U.S. and the University of Birmingham in England.

Prof. Cheung's research interest involves clinical neuropsychology, clinical intervention, aging and dementia, Autism Spectrum Disorder. She uses both behavioral (such as lesion analysis) and brain imaging methods (including functional MRI and EEG) to investigate neuroplasticity of cognitive function (e.g. memory and language) and effects of various kinds of brain damage (e.g., epilepsy and complications of radiotherapy for the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma) on human cognitive functions.
