Dr. K.P. Misra is a faculty member in the Department of Physics, Manipal University Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Lucknow, India. Dr. Misra's inter-/multidisciplinary research interests include band gap engineering in wide band gap semiconductor nanoparticles, nanoparticle-systems for drug delivery, antimicrobial systems, quantum dots for bio-imaging, bio-sensing and bio-nano interactions. Another research focus of his is to explore the application of photoluminescence in the field of nanomedicine and light-nanoparticle interaction. He has expertise in a wide range of characterization tools such as electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and FTIR spectroscopy, as applicable bio-nano-materials.

The research contributions made by Dr. Misra have resulted in numerous peer-reviewed articles. He has edited a book titled, 'Ceramic Science and Engineering: Basics to Recent Advancements'. He also engages in various other scholarly activities namely, teaching the core research ideas of his domain to the undergraduate and post graduate students.
