Houman Danesh, MD, is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychobiology, and Georgetown University, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Physiology and Biophysics. He completed his medical School training at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Following a medical internship at Long Island College Hospital, Dr. Danesh completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mount Sinai and additionally completed his Fellowship in Pain Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Danesh is also certified in Medical Acupuncture and serves on the New York State Acupuncture Board.

Dr. Danesh has a particular interest in combining the benefits of interventional pain management (including transforaminal epidural injections, facet blocks, spinal cord stimulator trials, kyphoplasty, and ablations) with acupuncture, guasha, yoga, cupping, and physical therapy, to treat headaches, back pain, neck pain and joint pain. He has spearheaded the creation of the Division of Integrative Pain Management and serves as the Director.
