Dr. Marco Veneruso, MD, is a Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist and doctoral researcher in Neuroscience at the University of Genoa, Italy. He works as a Research Fellow at the IRCCS Istituto Giannina Gaslini (Genoa, Italy) and collaborates with the Sleep Medicine Center at the EOC in Lugano, Switzerland. He is also a certified Somnologist by the European Sleep Research Society.
Dr. Veneruso's research focuses on pediatric sleep medicine, with particular interests in sleep physiology, circadian rhythms, and sleep disturbances in neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions. He has worked with high-density EEG, actigraphy, and salivary melatonin analysis in both clinical and research settings. His ongoing projects include studies on sleep and circadian alterations in children with neurological and psychiatric disorders, as well as the validation of wearable sleep monitoring technologies in pediatric populations with low compliance to traditional methods. His work aims to deepen the understanding of sleep and circadian processes in childhood through both clinical observation and advanced sleep analysis techniques.
