Professor Ferry Efendi

Prof. Ferry Efendi is a professor at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia, with an adjunct appointment at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He earned his PhD from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, specializing in the migration of Indonesian nurses, and later completed his postdoctoral studies at La Trobe University.
Prof. Ferry's research has been supported by the Indonesian government, the Sumitomo Foundation (Japan), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan, and various international funding bodies. His primary research interests include international nurse migration, community health nursing, and health policy. He has been recognized as one of the Top 2% of World Scientists in the nursing field for three consecutive years (2022–2024) by Elsevier and Stanford University. Most recently, he was honored as an Academic Leader 2024 by the Ministry of Education of Indonesia for his outstanding contributions to education and research.
