Professor Li-Tzy Wu is a Professor with Tenure in Psychiatry (Division of Social and Community Psychiatry) and in Medicine (Division of General Internal Medicine) and a faculty member of Duke Clinical Research Institute, Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, and Center for Child and Family Policy at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA. She grew up in Taiwan and received pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training in psychiatric and addiction epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland. Professor Wu is a member of the Alpha Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Public Health Society and a former fellow of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Summer Institute for Randomized Clinical Trials.
Professor Wu has served as a Principal Investigator on a number of NIH grants. She has authored or coauthored over 135 publications and utilized various data sources for research - including the National Comorbidity Survey, National Survey on Drug Use and Health, National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions, longitudinal studies of adolescents, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and multisite randomized addiction treatment trials of the National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network (NIDA CTN). Professor Wu is an NIH grant reviewer. She is the PI and Director of the Mid Southern Primary Care Networks Node.
Her research interests: clinical trials, data science, EHR-based research and intervention, epidemiology of addictions and comorbidity, utilization of mental health and substance use treatments and outcomes, diagnostic validity and assessments, psychometric analysis, HIV risk, and new research methodologies.
