We, the Editors and Publisher of the International Journal of Nanomedicine, are issuing an Expressison of Concern for the published article.

After publication, concerns have been raised by a third party about the integrity of the data in Figure 5 of the article.

Further investigation conducted by the Journal and Publisher confirmed unusual similarities present in the image panels representative of different treatment conditions in Figure 5e. When approached for an explanation, the authors have provided their raw data for Figure 5e and have been able to fully address the concerns raised.

Additional integrity concerns were identified by the Journal and Publisher in Figures 5a and 5c due to the lack of correlation between the tumour volumes measured in vivo, and the photographs of the excised tumours. When queried about this, the authors have responded but have not been able to address the concerns regarding the integrity of the data shown in Figures 5a and 5c.

The Journal confirms that the concerns raised about figures 5a and 5c do not affect the overall validity or integrity of the reported findings. We advise readers to interpret the information presented in Figures 5a and 5c with due caution.

The authors have been notified about this Expression of Concern. Should further information come to light, the journal will reassess any concern raised.
