The authors have advised due to an error that occurred inadvertently at the time of figure assembly, the number at risk data in Figure 2 on page 7 of the published paper is incorrect.

The correct Figure 2 is shown below.

Figure 2 Kaplan–Meier curves showing time to postoperative delirium in the lidocaine and control groups. There was a significant difference between the two groups (Log rank test, P = 0.0055).

The authors apologize for the error and advise it does not affect the results and conclusion of the paper.
