I’m a research associate (Faculty Appointment) in the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of South Florida, Tampa, USA. As a researcher with expertise in biochemistry, cell biology, signal transduction, and 3D electro-spun nanofibrous scaffold cell culture, I am interested in exploring the role of tumor microenvironment in regulation and enrichment of breast cancer stem cells (CSCs), drug resistance and underlying molecular mechanisms. This domain of scientific research has lots of opportunities for further development, and there is a great prospect for drug screening which will help to identify CSCs targeted cancer therapy. I started my research career in breast cancer biology from 2006. I had the opportunity to be exposed to both in vitro and in-vivo research techniques and being in breast cancer research field for more than 8 years has garnered immense interest in various aspects of cancer biology research.

My doctoral study was on biochemistry from University of Calcutta, India. My expertise in biochemistry and clinical research proved helpful during my research endeavors in the field of breast cancer as a post-doctoral fellow in the Bioengineering Department and the Department of Medicine at University of Pittsburgh, USA during 2006-2011. From 2011 onwards, I have been working on drug resistance and hypoxia in multiple myeloma and breast cancer. My main focus was to apply the evolutionary dynamics (or Adaptive Therapy) to inhibit or delay the proliferation of the multidrug resistance in breast cancer and extends the progression free survival, growth factor induced Raf1 signaling at Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida. I have several publications and posters in the field of cancer research area. I’m an associate member of American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) since year 2008. I’m a reviewer of several scientific peer-reviewed journals.
