Postdoctoral Fellow, Université de Montréal, Canada
Dr. Ajeawung graduated from the University of Buea in 2001 with a degree in Medical Laboratory Science. He later move to Belgium where he obtained a master degree in molecular biology and public health methodology from Vrije University Brussels and Université Libre de Bruxelles respectively (2004-2007). From September 2009 to April 2014, he enrolled as a PhD student in molecular and cellular biology at Laval University, Quebec where he conducted independent research involving the discovery and characterization of novel compounds that could be used for the treatment of brain tumours. His doctoral work also employed a combination of molecular, genomic and proteomic approaches to understand the role of NPAS3 in neural stem cells and Cancer.
Dr. Ajeawung’s postdoctoral research at the CHU Sainte-Justine (Montreal University) is aimed at improving our understanding of the pathophysiology of rare genetic disorders such as DOORS syndrome.
