Dr. Rahul Dev Jayant (Ph.D.), is a Postdoctoral Associate in Prof. Madhvan Nair lab at the Centre of Personalized Nanomedicine, Department of Immunology of Florida International University (FIU), USA. Dr. Jayant did his M.Tech. (2006) Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology (Biotechnology) from NIPER, Chandigarh, India and obtained his Ph.D. (2011) in Biomedical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), India. Before moving to USA, Dr. Jayant worked as Postdoctoral Research Fellow (one year) at Prof Gero Decher’s Lab (Pioneer of Layer-by-layer technique), ICS-CNRS, France. In his current postdoctoral research, Dr. Jayant is investigating the novel molecular and nanotechnology based drug delivery approaches for personalized nanomedicine applicable to neuroAIDS and drugs of abuse treatment. Dr. Jayant has 3 patents, published quality (20+) research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and presented his work in many national & international scientific meetings (+20) related to the fields of Biomaterials, Drug Delivery, Nanomedicine and Drug Abuse including the recent one as an invited speaker in the session: “Therapeutic challenges in HIV Infection & Drug Addiction” at the recent SNIP meeting (2015). He has been serving as editorial board member of Journal of Personalized NanoMedicine; consulting editor for International Journal of Nanomedicine and reviewer of many peer-reviewed scientific journals e.g. Nanotechnology, Science and Applications, Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine, Research and Reports in Transdermal Drug Delivery, Journal of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Journal of Nanomaterials and Molecular Nanotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomaterials, Biosensors. He is a member of several international scientific organizations including SNIP, SPNM, APPS, IDARS and CRS etc. Dr. Rahul’s innovative research has been recognized by 10 prestigious awards including 3 recent awards in 2015 viz “Junior Investigator Research Award “at the 2nd Annual meeting SPNM, 2015; Early Career Investigator Travel Award and Arthur Falek Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at 21st Annual meeting of SNIP, 2015.
