Dr. Sargisson is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the Unversity of Waikato in New Zealand. She gained her PhD in 2003 with a thesis investigating the short-term remembering behaviour of pigeons. Dr. Sargisson has applied and basic research experience with both non-human and human animals. For example, she spent three years working with the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining where she researched the use of animals to detect landmines. Dr. Sargisson is currently interested in research on identifying children at risk of negative life outcomes, cyberbullying, disaster response, sustainability, and other topics.
