His PhD work, conducted in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem School of Pharmacy, concentrated on the design and characterization of novel gastro-retentive dosage forms and involved clinical trials in over 120 healthy volunteers. The patented technology that resulted from his research led to the establishment of a biopharmaceutical company, Intec Pharma, which is now traded publicly.
