I have read with great interest the paper entitled “A Computerized Assessment of Verbal and Visuospatial Memory (Dys)functions in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis” by Petra et al. The authors found the usefulness of performing computerized tests to detect subtle signs of cognitive impairment and of intact performance, which can inform memory training protocols for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. 1

Dear editor

I have read with great interest the paper entitled “A Computerized Assessment of Verbal and Visuospatial Memory (Dys)functions in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis” by Petra et al. The authors found the usefulness of performing computerized tests to detect subtle signs of cognitive impairment and of intact performance, which can inform memory training protocols for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.1

This study is very useful to identify verbal and visuospatial memory (dys)functions in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I found a few things that need to be written by the authors. Firstly, in the selection of research instruments, there are several instruments that have not been explained regarding their validity and reliability, such as the Disease Activity Score-28 using CRP (DAS28-CRP),2 the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ),3 the Motor Screening Test (MOT), the Spatial Span Test (SSP), the Spatial Working Memory test (SWM).4

In the section on the Objective Cognitive Function Assessment, it is necessary to state the examination steps carried out by authors that these steps follow the steps of The CANTAB tests or be modified. Then in the CANTAB-related citation in reference sequence number 17, the author does not clearly refer to the appropriate CANTAB article.4
