Dr Ramesh
Editor-in-Chief: Dr Rajagopal Ramesh
Rajagopal Ramesh, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA. Dr. Ramesh has 15 years of experience in translational cancer research and leads a research team focused on testing several novel tumor suppressor genes, small molecule inhibitors and targeted signaling pathways for lung cancer treatment. Over the past 15 years he has successfully translated laboratory findings into 4 gene-based clinical trials. The most recent ongoing clinical trial at M.D Anderson Cancer Center, by Dr. Ramesh’s group is the systemic nanoparticle-based tumor suppressor gene delivery for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Dr. Ramesh has received research funding from several federal and private funding agencies including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Ramesh has published over 76 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and has authored several book chapters on cancer gene therapy. He currently serves on the editorial board of seven journals and is a reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals. He has also served as reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed research grants. He has also served as an invited speaker and has presented at several national and international meetings and conferences.
