Muscling Up: Strategies for the Prevention and Management of Sarcopenia
Sarcopenia is a condition characterized by the loss of muscle mass, strength, and function, typically associated with aging. It can have serious implications for an individual's overall health and quality of life, leading to a decreased ability to perform activities of daily living and an increased risk of falls and other health problems. To prevent or manage sarcopenia, there are several strategies that can be employed. These include resistance training, adequate protein intake, vitamin D supplementation, hormone replacement therapy, and avoiding inactivity. However, there are still many unresolved issues regarding the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia. The purpose of this Article Collection is to share valuable knowledge and the most recent developments regarding the prevention and management of sarcopenia.
