At the authors request, the Editor and Publisher of Cancer Management and Research wish to retract the published article. Concerns were raised following the authors request to publish a corrigendum when it was found images in Figure 6A had been duplicated. Specifically,

  • Figure 6A, panel Ad-calgranulin B appears to have been duplicated with Figure 6C, panel Ad-calgranulin B.

The authors explained an error had been made during the preparation of the images for Figure 6, however they were unable to provide adequate original data for Figure 6. The authors determined the results described in Figure 6 could not be verified and requested for the article to be retracted. However, the authors believe that this error did not affect the conclusion of this study. The authors will repeat the study and republish the findings.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
